September 2009, rather suddenly, I have 4 monarch butterflies on my butterfly bush. I usually only see one during an entire summer. What beauties they are.

I'm told this is either an Aphrodite or Great Spangled Fritillary. What wonderful names. I usually see one or two of these every year. They generally show up in mid August.
