Remodeling - kitchen and a little bit of the dining room and living room.
My kitchen thoughts were given form by Sue Tibbs at Kenwood Kitchens in Baltimore and the cabinets are by Adelphi Kitchens from Pennsylvania. Its amazing to see it come together so well, and to like it. I can breathe again.

Your kitchen is beautiful, we're building new house and my dining set has chairs very much like yours and I was wondering what to use for peninsula seating, if they needed to be the same, but I see how beautiful yours look with different color & style of chairs, so will not try to match now, which I really didn't want to.

Layout of the new kitchen

I love the transformation ... it's absolutely beautiful! So warm and inviting.

Have a question about your cooktop placement. If we remodel I'd be placing my range in a similar configuration. I worry about it being too close to the corner (of the cabinets) while cooking. Do you have a problem with that?

Thanks,
Cindy

I would have thought the cabs were cherry! Lovely. I hope you don't mind if I've save a pic of your kitchen in my inspiration folder...

Right side of the kitchen. I've since gotten a new refrigerator door, it opens the other way. What was I thinking.

Hello, we just bought a house and we ordered the Baltic Brown granite. This looks really good! My husband and I were debating because we have all black appliances and I wanted a stainless steel fridge; he said it wouldn't look right...you have proven him wrong :)

The cabinet over the microwave has been cut down, and reinstalled, so the MW is now the correct height. The light rails are now installed under the cabinets. The microwave is Dacor OTR PMOR30. The cooktop is the Dacor PGM304. I had a gas line run to the house just for the gas cooktop. I love it.

I'm having the hardest time deciding on a backsplash. I LOVE yours!

Trim over the sink. The sign from my parents cottage just fits up there.

Our spirits must have been sisters once! I am getting the same cabinets (style, wood, color), my old kitchen looked much like yours but I think my would have won the ugly contest!, and our names are "mom"! My first name even begins with a "j".

I do love your kitchen. The trim on the ceiling is perfect. I'm going to show it to my GC. It is the perfect solution to my old farm house's wavy floor and ceiling.

Same shot - everything is gone. The white oak flooring has been laid. It looks wonderful. The room looks so much bigger without the soffit.

I noticed you switched from tile floor to wood. I am doing the opposite. I was wondering why you put in the floor before the cabinets? Did the floor sustain any damage during the installation of the kitchen?

The old kitchen, it served us well, but it's time to go.

so what are we going to do with the good old island?

I think we'll refinish it and use it in the dining room.

Wow, cabinets and soffit look a lot like our old kitchen. And aluminum casement windows! I'm glad ours are gone!

The "right" side of the old kitchen. The previous owner loved pink - think rubber glove pink - I'm so glad it's gone.

I love this photo essay of your kitchen transformation. I am currently in the design process for mine. So many decisions to make!

We are beginning our kitchen remodel. What should we do with the previous owner's cast iron pink sink? For real. Your new kitchen is beautiful. I see you slipped in a stack of wine cubbies as well!

Tray cabinet, the dividers slide out, though I'm not sure why.

Love your kitchen. I noticed you used an angled door in the blind cabinet instead of the funny fold out. What made you decide, and are you happy with your choice?

Spice rack inside cupboard door. The shelves are a little narrower so the door can close. I really like the arrangement.

Do you know the manufacturer of this spice rack?
